    • MOD MARKIT IS AUSTRALIA'S LARGEST MODEST FASHION EVENT

       

      Mod Markit makes modest fashion accessible by providing a platform for local and global brands to sell Modest Fashion. We believe in sustainability and include selling pre-loved clothing.

       

      Mod Markit uses fashion to empower women in two fold. Firstly we provide an authentic space for ethnically and religiously diverse women to have creative self expression. Secondly we support women in business and encourage growth.

       

       

       

      What started out as a fun project with over 500 attendees in its first year, quickly grew to 2000+ attendees by the second event. Growth is estimated to be exponential this year as a partner of Melbourne Fashion Week.

    • The Story of Mod Markit

      Zulfiye Tufa is the founder and director of Mod Markit. Growing up in Melbourne, Zulfiye found it a constant struggle to dress modestly, without compromising on fashion.

       

      Out of frustration she began documenting her journey online. Women across the world were feeling the same way and under moniker ‘The Hijab Stylist’ she amassed over 40K subscribers. Her next step was to creating a community hub for modest fashion and in 2016, Mod Markit was born.

       

      Zulfiye received the ‘Fashion Icon Award’ in Malaysia and exhibited her fashion designs at Melbourne’s Immigration Museum. She has been recognised by global fashion brands and international media, including H&M, BuzzFeed, SBS, the Herald Sun, The Collective Hub and Frankie Magazine.

       

      She works alongside her team tirelessly to bring the Mod Markit vision to life.

       

      When she is not working on Mod Markit, Zulfiye works as a pharmacist. She resides in Melbourne and is raising her 2-year-old to be a loving feminist.
